I went for a bit of a wander on Saturday and, you know, auld haunts and all dat, I ended up taking a walk on Gormanstown Beach out in Co Meath. The beach is probably best known for the military warnings about ‘military exercises’ and ‘explosions’. It was very overcast, but warm, and there seemed to be little chance of rain.

The tide was going out pretty quickly and the birds were feeding themselves on all the little insects and marine animals that live just below the sand. The dogs, like the one above, were going crazy chasing after them. I think the dogs and the birds got a bit of fun out of the encounter. It was like that game that children play, catch me if you can

Sea Stallion arrives in Dublin

The Viking replica ship, Sea Stallion, arrived in Dublin today in very overcast conditions. The ship itself is very basic and the sailors on board must have been extremely hardy to survive their trip.
