Heron relaxes at the end of the day

I’m not sure if one can skip (or bunk off) work if you’re the boss but that’s what I did today. It was sort of work related in that I drove around looking for new photo locations. Luckily I found Seatown, which a little estuary just north of Malahide.

It’s a very beautiful and restful place. Especially so, considering that the M1 motorway is just behind me. The heron in the photo seemed so serene as he inspected his domain just as the sun was going down.

Seatown is definitely somewhere I’ll return to again but probably on a warmer day!

What you looking at?

Proud Bull

I was in Waterford over the weekend and took a walk on Ballyquin strand, near Ardmore. I saw this docile bull perched on the top of the hill munching away on the grass. Thinking it might make a nice photograph if he was outlined against the clear autumnal sky, I clambered up the hill.

However, as I got closer to him, he became away of me and started to get ‘fidgety’ and vaguely aggressive. I was getting worried that he might try to attack me (it happens a couple of times each year on Irish farms).

So I took a quick snap, and retreated with as much dignity as I could, and nervously looking over my shoulder to ensure I was in the clear. Who knew a Sunday stroll could be potentially dangerous!
